If you're talking about when he pulls that giant worm-like carrier Chitauri in a different direction (after leaping from a building onto it's jaws, to save the people still in the offices in the building), do note that we clearly see him using his hands and strength to pull the thing's jaws in another direction. Not magical direction altering, but utterly ridiculous levels of strength (considering the size and likely weight of that carrier) - which is basically Hulk's MO.
