So, a bit of backstory before I show you what I have: This came to me, literally in a dream, less than an hour ago. The past hour has been spent trying to work said dream into something comprehensible. Here are a few things I've been able to determine about this world. There are no humans, none. Period. There might have been humans at one time, but they do not exist now. There are many sentient races in the world, but there is very little 'half and half' breeding. Most races are incompatable. Of those races, there are two that are most important to this story so far. The Ellhem, and the Qelchet (names are workeable, I didn't get any names from the dream, and had to come up with them seperately, so tell me what you think). Ellhem are small, elf like creatures, only four to five feat tall. They have carved out a vast empire using both their superior technology, and their superior skill in magic, to conquer much of the known world. Only the fringes of the known world remain free of their rule. Qelchet are roughly humanoid creatures who also share traits of both wolves and cougers. They have short, sleek muzzles filled with sharp teath. Their ears rest on the tops of their heads, and have just a soft point to them. Their eyes are sharp, even better than the Ellhem's eyes. Their bodies are covered in a fine coat of fur that can range in colors and patterns from white to black, and from red to blonde. They are larger and stronger than the Ellhem, but their culture is comparatively more primitive, and does not have as much mastery over magic. As a result, most have been enslaved for generations. The Lo: The Lo is a mighty, old creature, so old that no-one truly knows where it is from save for stories and legend. It is a titanic beetle, so large that it can shadow villages with it's body. Long ago, the ellhem captured it, lobotomized it, and hollowed out parts of it's body, using their magic to give it half-life. Now it serves them as a means of transportation. There are some other creatures like the Lo, ranging in size from enough to carry a half dozen people, to large enough to carry several score, but none as large as the Lo, which bears scores of passengers and slaves within and on it's body. And now, without further ado, what I have of the story so far (it's short, but still)
