  1. Leon89 One punch is sometimes to much.

"Thank you for the food and information." Caellach says the the crowd, before picking up his food and eating while he thought over the situation. Turning to his compatriots "So the way I see it is that we can either go late tonight and try and set up traps on the beach and spring it after they all come ashore in the morning. Or we can try our hand at the middle of the day when majority of them will least likely to be active. Your guys' thoughts?"
  2. Shibosho I'm a motherfucking PUNCH WIZARD

"Hmmm...I've got a couple ideas," Adel rubbed his chin thoughtfully, "I think I'm pretty good at mimicking other animal's roars. Do you think I can attract them ludroth if I pretend to be a royal? Or maybe we catch a whole bunch of fish or animals, put them on the shore and wait for them droths to come." Adel paused to open his mouth wide and toss in a rather large grill fish into it. "*Munch* Well, I don't really care *Crunch* if we do this tonight*Munch* or during the day."
  3. Leon89 One punch is sometimes to much.

"Adel" Caellach replies calmly, with a hint of annoyance, "I have never heard you mimic any animal sounds, at least not good enough to call it mimicking, in the twelve years we have lived together, 'brother'."
  4. Shibosho I'm a motherfucking PUNCH WIZARD

"Oi! Then how about that time when I managed to lure that Duronga Bird Beast by mimicking its mating call?" Adel retorts.
  5. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

''Now now guys,'' Interjected Lurian with a lazy hand gesture at the bickering duo. ''As fun as all this planning is, right now, we don't know enough about this place to do anything effectively. We need to do some good old scouting first. Meaning that I'm not getting my full 20 hours a day sleeptime. Ah, what a pain.''
  6. Gecko4lif Tristitia

"*grumble* Finally" Zero surveys the queit village "we arent getting anything done here so scouting ahead makes sense" "*grumble* We dont all need to go though" Zero turns to lurian "Stay down wind brother"
  7. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

''You know me, I'll be back before you know it'' With those words said, Lurian sprinted towards the beaches.
  8. Leon89 One punch is sometimes to much.

    ...

Caellach shuddered slightly at the thought of that debacle. Yes, he lured it alright, but even to Caellach's ears the 'mating call' that Addy made, sounded more like a dying rooster, than the thrills of the Duronga Bird Beast's mating call. Pushing the thoughts back to the back of his mind when the last of his brothers spoke up, scouting did sound like a good idea.

"Yes, getting some more info on the beach itself would be good. Though before we send out any one, Laurian!" Caellach shouts out and then turns his attention to the locals. "What can you tell us about the beach itself?"

  10. Shibosho I'm a motherfucking PUNCH WIZARD

Adel shrugged his shoulders. He wasn't too much for planning. Just go with your instincts and get ready to take a bite out of life, that's what he always thought.
  11. The beach is rather rocky and ends in a light forest, and so there was enough cover that the locals were able to observe the Ludroth there a few times without being spotted and attacked.
  12. Leon89 One punch is sometimes to much.

"Is there any night life worth watching out for?" Caellach asks the locals. "Otherwise I am fine with getting a better idea about the beach."
  13. The locals deny the presence of any dangerous wildlife. This had been a very safe and monster-free region until the Ludroth began to act up.
  14. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

''Do you have any ideas why the Ludroth became this aggresive?''
  15. The villagers tell you that the Ludroth have not always tried to attack them, and in fact their yellowish color could be used in the evenings to help find good fishing spots. The attacks began about two weeks ago, sporadic at first but increasingly bold, eventually forcing them to limit fishing to the times when the Ludroth would sunbathe.
  16. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

''That means that Tom was probably right. There's a probably new Alpha Male in town.'' A pensive look passed on Lurian face before he shrug it off. ''Oh well, only one way to know for sure. Save me some snacks Bros!'' And he was gone.
  17. The nighttime beach appears as bright as day as you approach the beach from the forest. The sounds of a handful of Ludroth growling can be heard as you look at them from behind a rock. There are three Ludroth on the beach lying around a large pit in the sand. One appears to be resting, but the other two are alert, although none of them see you.
  18. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

I cautiosly avoid them, hoping to avoid confrontation, fighting them now does nothing to help us. I use my Sight to look for an optimal path around them and head deeper into the beach.
  19. You avoid the Ludroth's line of sight and creep deeper into the beach from among the rocks. No other Ludroth are sighted besides the three guards. Eventually you reach the water without drawing notice.
  20. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

I cast one last look around me, just in case I missed another one hiding somewhere. Then, I start looking around the beach in more detail, looking for areas and things that could be used for traps, ambushes and the like. I also look for trails of Ludroth, hoping to get a handle of their usual paths on this beach

I also wonder why there were 3 Ludroths on what appeared to be guard duty. Perhaps the new Alpha has decided to extend his territory here? It would explain some things.
  21. You notice that the rocky areas of the beach would force the Ludroth, as well as you, to fight in single file. The Royal Ludroth would have trouble fitting through them due to their large manes.

Although most of the trails have been washed away by the tide by now, the remaining trails indicate that the Ludroth almost exclusively lie around that large pit.
  22. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

I consider trying to approach the large pit in order to see if there's any reasons why the Ludroth only go there, but in the end, I decide against it.

Instead, I approach the rocky areas and look through them for spots where I could spray acide on a reptile whitout getting hurt mysefl, places were Cadelch's webbing might be useful and opening that would allow Adel and Zero to unleash their full strength.
  23. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

After another round of looking around, I decide that I won't be able to squeeze out any other pertinent info and started to head back to the village. Once again, I make sure to do my best to avoid the pit and its 3 guards by going around them.
  24. You are able to make it out of the beach without drawing attention and arrive back at the village, where the others are waiting.
  25. Deadly snark Welp, we're screwed.

''Okay guys, here's what I've learn.'' Lurian starts to unload all he's seen and observed during his scouting, the rocky areas, the pit and the guards. ''So yeah, I'm thinking that that pit is probably really important for them. At first I thought that the new alpha was just expending, but now I'm thinking that its maybe a nest or something like that. Would explain why they're so aggresive now.''
