Void Ascension (ZnT/GW)

  1. Yeah, I can just imagine the player swallowing his microphone in frustration. What's this? Decisions have consequences? In a *computer game*? But it was just 30+ mooks I killed while acting like a madman, surely that's nothing special. Zone back to tutorial area... er, Academy, and it's all fine, right?

No offense, but the whole "talking about your greatest secrets out loud" thing (even after you've noticed that others hear what you say and respond to it seriously) makes the player seem no longer just clueless, but plain incompetent.

Other than that, this story is amazing, and I can't wait till the next update.
  3. LGear Enter Enter Mission

The thing is, the player still is under the impression that everything is a GAME, which it pretty much is to his viewpoint with no evidence to the contrary. He just thinks the AI is just totally awesome, instead of them being real people who could use the information he's spouting in ways that could bite him in the ass later. Video games can't hurt you even if they try (unless you kill yourself through neglect and lethargy like some MMO addicts, which would be just sad), and thus even if he blurts out his greatest secrets, it's not like he thinks there's any downside to it.
  4. This.
The realization that what he is playing is more than a game is when the fun begins...well fun for us not so much for our intrepid player.
  5. Well his monologue was overheard just a while ago, but the consequences were rather negligible so it could all be blamed on a clever AI script adapting to situation. Not nearly enough to be cautious, especially since so far there have been zero challenges and multiple level ups - so obviously the player is doing something right. What could possibly go wrong?

    Swallowing?

    How about outright choking.:p

Of course, zoning will happen. After all it's just a game, right? Right.:D

LGear got the gist of it.

Anyway, thank you for the compliment.:)

    Bingo!

    Yup.

Fun for the readers. Not so much for the player.

Just to give an analogy for what might happen in the future: Imagine this game is like Russian Roulette, but instead of one bullet in a six shooter, it's five bullets in a six shooter.

Indeed. What could possibly go wrong?:p
