What RP would you want to be in? 2.0

This time with more then just five choices of my first thread in this manner. All of these games are from books only. Some of them are video games but they have had P&P RPGs made on them.

All of these games, you start with basic knowledge, ability and skill packages.

Some of these game you will not have heard of at all...some of these you know well enough not to even think about.

1: Dragon Age

Bioware game. You should know this setting by now.

2: Mekton Zeta

One of the first Generic Giant Robot RPGs ever made. Make any setting with any rules you want.

In this case however, "Invasion of Terra" is one setting to play. Earth gets stomped by very advanced but overly confident aliens. Then they get beaten back and goes full on gundam.

3: Palladium Fantasy

Fantasy realm as detailed and large as any.

Play as an orc, elf, human, giant, wolfen, monster race, minotuar...lots of stuff. Get magic, save the world.

Too much to just detail here.

4: Serenity

Or the RPG based on FireFly and the movie Serenity.

Play as a crew, get your own ship. Fight or help the alliance, kill some Reavers, find Earth that was.

5: Rifts

Lots of Crap Sack in this world. Play a hero or villain. Get Stompy robots or command stompy elementals. Wield demons and magic. MAke deals with devils, angels and gods. Etc.

6: Battletech

I thought maybe about....3025? Everyone starts with a dropship, mech of their own and jumpship. Go and do what you want.

7: Mechanoid Invasion

Game of ultimate Survival. A race that makes the Necrons look cuddly and weak in comparison has come...you get to play the survivors.

May not sound too fun...but hey...fun is what you make of it.

8: ShadowRun

Magic and Cyberpunk in a world gone magicky.

9: World of Warcraft

Nuff Said. Though the setting in this case is...around after the third war. As WoW was starting really.

10: Nightbane

You are a Nightbane. a human given the power to transform into a creature of great power. Your enemies, whether you like it or not, are the Nightlords. Q-lite beings who are slowly taking over the earth through the supernatural and covert action.

11: Battlestar Galactica

In this case the recent one. Starts after the Fleet is on the run.

12: Crimson Skies

Get your own plane, Zep, and fly to where you feel like going. Be a pirate, or work for a state.

13: A Wheel of time

Play as a person who wields the one power, is an armsman, an aiel, whatever. Be different in a world full of stubborm fools

14: World of Darkness

Werewolves, Vampires, Hunters....oh my.

15: Cyberpunk 2020

Have Metal in your bones, guns in your arms, and a song in your head as you take the fight to the corps. WOOO~ *Plays Rock Ballad*

16: Exalted

.....Animesqu Superheroes in a fantasy realm and a porn special to back it all up?

Why not just be honest and use D&D.

Already running one of these, its a difficult universe due to the fact its very hard to actually CHANGe anything.

Honestly Chief, make an original setting.

Well to answer two questions regarding my 'Palladium Fetish'.

1: I was being honest. I'm not a D&D player...at all. I have the stuff and know it...but it's something I can toss aside easily.

2: Palladium stuff was what got me into RPGs in the first place....but then you already knew this. If anybody has difficulty with a system it's because they haven't taken the time to read and understand them. I have read and totally understand the system.

If I wanted to see if people wanted to play in one of my original settings...I would...and again...you know that.

Dragon Age mekton or Wow as the least of evils.

Rifts. If Apperture ever made a personality core, I'd be a Rifts Sphere.

Battletech and Mechanoids would be fun. Though I'd ask what kind of game of the BTech game. Not really a fan of those ones like a House lord or a Cameron is you.

New World of Darkness, of those options. Mage and Geist are just plane superpowered beings with a few issues. Ones I would willingly be:

Werewolf: The Forsaken
Mage The Awakening
Changeling The Lost (assuming instant transport, not living in Arcadia)
Geist The Sin Eaters

Fan Made Gamelines:

Demon The Redemption (depending on the situation)
Dragon The Embers
Genius The Transgression
Leviathan The Tempest (similar to Changeling)
Princess The Hopeful

My preference would be one of the fanmade gamelines, especially Princess, assuming a general World of Darkness game.

Truth be told I have barely if any working knowledge of any of these settings, and most of those that I have some knowledge of I would have zero interest in playing for various reasons.

A Mechwarrior RP might be fun though if I could have a pre-redesign Marauder, because Glaug Marauder is best Marauder. I'd just have to do a lot of referencing whatever wikis MW has.

On a semi-related note: Gunney Wirewolf doesn't want to play in a setting that includes werewolf PCs? BRB, checking to see if Hell's gone and frozen over.

I have even less knowledge than you good sir. Only one that interests me a little is mechwarrior... though like you, I'll have to wiki.. alot.

And depending on the interpretation you go by, hell is either frozen or the exact opposite....

Palladium Fantasy, Shadowrun, Crimson Skies, Cyberpunk 2020. Pulp fiction in general certainly does seem interesting. Word of Darkness on the other hand... ...Well, I like being able to do stuff that actually -matters- instead of just doing day-to-day survival the entire damn time, make some sort of difference. Though, as such, Princess the Hopeful, the fanmade setting, -does- look interesting for its departure from standard WoD, and the concept and subject matter are quite interesting.

Dragon Age would be interesting, if it was something less like 'you are the chosen one!' and more like 'congratulations and good morning, J.Random Grunt/Circle Mage sent to Ostagar. Survive.'

Wheel of Time would be for when I'm feeling masochistic, but the temptation to give the finger to Jordan's silly-mode fantasy feminism is strong in me. Unfortunately, I only read two or three of the books at the start and then promptly decided to not waste my time with the setting any further, so the GM would have to do a lot of show and telling about the setting (not that a GM should ever _not_ do that).

Going for dragon age as its the setting that I know the most about out of the ones listed here, though it would be even more interesting if it was set in the anceint times of the Tevinter Imperium or something along those lines.

Dragon Age as well. Tired of high power sci-fi settings.
