  1. "..." Well that makes some odd sense sinse they grew up in enviormently controlled colonies.
  2. SirLagginton Wabbit

They are only a generation or two removed from Earth, plus they are explicitly much more intelligent than Naturals.

    They have no excuse.

    IC: "...what's Australia?"

Out of the corner of your eye, you see Matt's face meet the palm of his prosthetic, before he jerked and shivered from the coldness of it.

OOC: So, you plan for your team to attack the NE part of the base?
  4. SmallTips Ally of convenience

They never studied Earth environments/animals, combined with hazing by older siblings... yeah.
  5. Actually, I say that we suggest this:

    1. Either we or some other elite unit take over the aquatic part, eliminate the AA covering the mass driver, get on shore and then eliminate as many AA.

    2. As soon as the AAs have been reduced or suppressed GINNs on the flight platforms make a fast run in to reinforce the aquatic GINNs which should by then be on the shore, focusing on the artillery as well as any remaining AA.

    3. The eastern most portion of the EA defense line seem to be the weakest, and once the EA is focused on the main assault send another team by that way to bust through supported by the air and naval assault teams and then take and hold the mass driver until the main force can eliminate the EA defenders.

I'm hesitant to take over the aquatic part, since we're not trained in that. Try to get someone else to do it who's got the cajones to do it and do it right. If that can't happen, we'll do it.

Rest of the plan checks out fine by me.

We'll also have to be careful to not damage the Mass Driver.

Also of note, remember that getting less kills than Waltfeld means buying him coffee, but I'd rather have the mission succeed and buy coffee than have these knuckleheads do something stupid and jeopardize everything.
  7. i vote we dont take over the amphibious part of the mission unless we have to

and the rest of the plan is also fine with me

if we dont beat waltfeld we can always ask for a rematch next time were both in space :)

    I have a Clever Plan!

Right, can the tech’s rig up some smoke projectors? I don’t just mean the supersized smoke grenades that we lifted from the tanks, but something that can feed out a continuous feed.

If they can, we rig up some decoys. It shouldn’t be hard to considering the level of automation mobile suits have to get some RC or robot cars that can easily drive a preprogrammed route.

We rig up these mobile projectors to come in at three angles towards the base, making sure they start up the smoke well distant from enemy eyes. They then drive out, smoke flowing in a dispersal wide enough to realistically hide out forces, preferably three times over, but even once would be a huge aid.

These smoke formations then charge the hot gates. The northern shoreline is where we really want them to think we’re attacking, because it’s the obvious assault vector. But if we have the resources to pull it off, then also fake a charge to the southern shoreline, and right down the front.

With luck (and decent insec) they’ll think were trying a land attack under cover of smoke to try and keep their artillery off our ass. Or at the least, that only one/two are decoys.

Actually, as an idea, since the BaCUEs aren’t submersible, ask the pilots of them if they’re actually willing to charge in under at least one of these smoke clouds (Let Andi pick the vector).

Meanwhile, while there eyes are (hopefully) focused on the ‘ground assault’ all our air tight MS take the opportunity to go do a Godzilla impression, and come in out of the depths to attack directly from the oceans.

Think we can set it up with the time/resources we have? At the very least, throw the idea at Waltfeld. Get his intake on it.
  9. Mizuki_Stone's idea if we can do it otherwise i vote for the pervious plan, we could have migule swap with the terrified amphibious suit to keep the team together
  10. SmallTips Ally of convenience

    [X] Mizuki's plan.

Where do we fit in it?
  11. OkayishGatsby My base jabber is fight!

I'll go with Clever Plan if Waltfeld approves it.

One problem, just how are our guys supposed to remote control the smoke-bots? With N-Jammer interference, the only way to RC to work is if we use wire-guided bots.

That said, if Waltfeld likes the plan, then I'll back it myself.
  13. laser comm. should take care of the control problem.
  14. chriswriter90 Registered

If the techies can make it work AceRaptor.

The northern flank just screams trap to me, I'd rather hit the south corner.
  15. Mizuki_Stone Gnd. Admiral

I figure it shouldn't be that hard to make a basic robot car to drive it. I mean Birdy and Haro are apparently basic civilian AI projects and look just how good they are at navigating around!
  16. Rieverre Thing That Should Not Be

"... when I find out who thought Jules Verne and old horror movies made good reference material for marine force briefings? It's the place I'm going to be dropping that person's ass off in their skivvies."

Meanwhile, we should valiantly attempt to resist the urge to sit the WASP pilots down and have them play Bioshock.

Mizuki's plan seems good, but we should do it in the middle of the day, when the sand has warmed up enough to spoof at least some thermal imaging. We should also field more forces for the decoy operation than just the BuCue units. When we get close enough for their other sensors to look through the smoke, we should have at least some materiel for them to worry about there. Otherwise they'll start wondering where the actual attack will come from.
  17. RyuKadori Would-be Something

[X] mizuki's plan it is at noon.

The NE approach has a lot of building there plus they might have a suprise there. We' ll have to wath out for the beam Skygraspers.
  18. i think we should take a cattus with 2 clips of hesh and one clip of canister for aa duty, matt should take his sniper rifle and standard load out for everyone else
  19. K-GoN Rookie Mecha Designer

IC: When you talk to the techs about this, they say that it can't be done. For one thing, there's no way they could rig up a truck or jeep to be remote-controlled - either by powerful radio signal or directed laser (which has its host of own problems).
They could, however, just rig up several of the BuCUES and ZuOOTs (which, as another design intended purely for terrestrial purposes, is not air-tight) with long-term smoke discharge units.

OOC: Also, yeah, don't forget load-out.
  20. Mizuki_Stone Gnd. Admiral

Hum, I was hoping the guidance issues wouldn't be ones, given the level of autonomy several Seed era small scale robots show. I was honestly more worried about the smoke launchers.

The plan still offers a big tactical advantage, still... I wouldn't want to just order people into the maw like that. Could we ask for volunteers?

We also definitely need to swing this idea by Waltfeld if we’re going to be putting 'his' units at risk at this point.
  21. I am almost tempted to load Mat with a Barrus just in case. Hmm.. what are the stats on that Rail rifle that was rigged up and how does it compare to the sniper rifle? Or was that thing not completed?
  22. K-GoN Rookie Mecha Designer

OOC: Well, given that Athrun had god-knows-how-much time to work on those, in peace-time, with access to plenty of appropriate parts, and is one of the more potent Coordinators out there, versus your unit, which has limited time, parts intended to replace those of giant war machines, and is a mixed bag of skills...

OOC: It's finished, yes. It has a much better muzzle velocity, range and penetrating capability - it'll go right through any warship, much less a tank or fighter - it's ammo capacity is limited though, with cobbled-together clips that hold only three rounds each and its capacitors require about fifteen seconds to charge for every shot.
  23. Decent, if improvised, weapon for actual sniping but not exactly ideal for the current situation. We are doing a fast assault on area that has things we don't want damaged by stray rounds and over penetration after all. How heavily armored are the AA and SAM sites typically anyway? Would the standard sniper rifle be effective or would we need a heavier weapon to pick them off from a distance?
  24. Mizuki_Stone Gnd. Admiral

I know, still I figured there was plenty of robotics parts around, and the techs could manage a basic OS for that given you know... giant robots, and that unlike said Birdy, the robot in question wouldn't need to be small and light enough to fly. Nor be nearly as complex.

Still it's completely understandable that jury rigging such a thing would be hard to do quickly. It could just be a matter that the programming work takes to long.

As such, can we approach Andi about this? The plan's decent I think, but if we'll be drawing on living pilots riding BaCUEs for it, then we're going to need his input.

Edit: and I vote for just giving Matt a Barrus. Again, Beam gun's are the 'big stick' of the setting, and we're working an assault this time. We need all the firepower we can get.

Armaments: (had to go back to thread two for the weapons)

Erich (us): Experimental Rifle x 3 clips, Bayonet, Shield Vulcan, Pardus

Matt: Sniper Rifle, Built in Pardus, Shoulder Vulcans

    Ave & Jun: Standard loadout

    Miguel: BuCUE Railguns

Should we use the flying platforms or not?
