This is a bit of a different VS, compared to what we usually see. Rather than determining who's the better fighter, this VS pits the two heavy-weights of the top two tennis manga in Japan against each other in a tennis match. So, who will seize victory? Will it be the methodical genius, Eiichiro Marou from the manga Baby Steps, or the tennis prodigy Ryoma Echizen from the manga Prince of Tennis? Here are the manga in question: http://unixmanga.com/onlinereading/Baby_Steps.html http://unixmanga.com/onlinereading/index.php?sort=date&path=Prince of Tennis Complete/ Here are the character profiles from their wiki: http://babysteps.wikia.com/wiki/Eiichirou_Maruo http://princeoftennis.wikia.com/wiki/Ryoma_Echizen Pictures:
Yeah, I think so too. Baby Steps is a better tennis manga, though - far more detailed and down-to-earth. And Marou is by far a better character.
Out of interest. Do real world tennis stars ever show up in these things? The latter, more insane one especially. I'm just trying to imagine the sort of bullshit they'd have going on in a Federer vs Nadal match.
Ryoma takes this, his skill set runs on shounen powered logic. While the other guy seems more grounded to reality.
I don't think so. Then again, the main characters haven't actually reached the level where they'd be competing against international stars, so who knows?
It has been years since i saw prince of tennis. But I believe there have been some mentioned in the prince of tennis series as examples as the technique or the training regime of such international players.
