Why can't it be a Sims type game instead? That's plenty viable in the Gor setting if we're using the alien overlords.

 

Still probably better than FATAL. (Disclaimer: I have no experience with FATAL, aside from the horror stories. That's probably enough experience...)

 

It was only a miracle the guy was a complex sperglord or there be more FATAL cultists.

 

Meh, still better than FATAL. Which I remember actually seeing a copy in a local game store many many years ago. It wasn't for sale, they had it in the case behind the register with other not for sale stuff from the owner's personal collection. It had a sign on it "Caution Worst RPG EVER" He used it as a conversation piece on what NOT to do for all the people who wanted to make their own game.

 

To be fair it could be like that movie and have none of the problematic bits in it. Though I doubt it.

I also doubt it will reach its goal in a little more than 2 days.

Though if it does reach completion and is truly terribly, I may acquire it for the lulz.

 

Which is Content Bloat to say of the least. Even if it wasn't a RPG for calling Slaanesh it was still an epic nightmare of content bloat that is pretentious as fuck. It's like someone trying to make a Paradox Grand Strategy game with even more "features"

 

Does it have a MST3K mode?

If you were around for any of the Athene Reads: X threads, imagine Tom Kratman worte BDSM CONAN Pulp novels. Now file down the Pulp aspect so its mostly played straight.

Well, the driving force behind this RPG did admit under the Risks & Challenges section that this would only be successful due to the sheer popularity of 50 Shades of Grey and I cannot help but feel he does make a point, even if I rather dislike both the story of Gor and the fanfiction turned novel 50 Shades...

 

Gor is the Twilight of BDSM. Except not as good.

There is a bdsm gor subculture though. I don't know much about them, but if you could cater to them it might actually sell. Lots of setting information, guide to freeform roleplay, info on bondage, that sort of thing.

The problem with making it a traditional tabletop rpg is I don't think a lot of rpgers are going to want to play it.

 

With 600 under is that the end of the project or you think someone will just foot the bill?

To be fair there are just as bad bdsm projects that no one really cares about. Though the main character in gor is a bi-polar maniac fuck and i hate him.

 

No, 50 shades is the Twilight of BDSM. This is a good deal worse.
